KCCA land board boss Balondemu rearrested over allegedly defrauding Shs2.2bn from Americans

KAMPALA.The Kampala District Land Board Chairperson David Balondemu has been rearrested, a statement from the anti corruption union said on Friday evening. "It's allegedly that KG Unlimited LLC, an American Company, was defrauded Ugx 2.2Bn in a purported procurement of a water plant by Ministry of Agriculture. The fraudsters purported that PPDA was conducting the procurement on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture. All the money was paid through an account of M/s Bloom Advocates. Balondemu is believed to be the proprietor of the law firm through proxies ," a State House statement said. Buganda mourns Kabaka’s wife after Daily Secrets story

KAMPALA: Buganda Kingdom has finally spoken out about the passing of Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi’s Rwanda-based wife, Venetia Sebudandi. Daily Secrets broke the story of the death of Sebudandi, the mother of Prince Jjunju “Kiweewa” Suuna, who was pronounced dead by family members. “The family of Mr Andrew Sebudandi wishes to inform family and friends that our beloved mother, sister and aunty, Amb. Venetia Sebudandi, passed away on November 13,” the family said in a statement. Now a statement from the office of Buganda Premier says the kingdom will be involved in the burial of Sebudandi. Buganda silent as Kabaka’s other wife passes on

KAMPALA: Buganda Kingdom has remained silent following the passing of Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi’s Rwanda-based wife, Venetia Sebudandi. EACOP breeding poverty among families affected by project – new report

A new report indicates that the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project has, to a great extent, impoverished the Project Affected People (PAPs). This is contained in a research report released November 7, 2023 by Africa Institute for Energy Governance (AFIEGO). According to AFIEGO, the research was conducted between April and November 2023. Two hundred and thirty-seven (237) respondents from 31 villages, 16 sub-counties and six of the 10 EACOP-affected districts in Uganda participated in the research. The participants were drawn from districts of Hoima, Kikuube, Kakumiro, Mubende, Lwengo and Kyotera. They included EACOP project-affected persons, local council leaders, women, the elderly and cultural as well as opinion leaders. Uganda's High Commissioner to South Africa, Paul Amoru, has held talks with FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Dr. Patrice Motsepe, President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) over football-related issues. Mbarara University vice chancellor is new UNEB chairperson
