Magnum Security guards sent to Luzira over illegal deployment on disputed land

At least 11 guards of Magnum Security have been sent on remand for illegally protecting a disputed piece of land. The Anti-Corruption Unit of State House said in a statement Friday "11 personel of Magnum Security have been arraigned before the KCCA Chief Magistrates Court on Charges of Forcible Entry on Property." "The accused took possession of the land belonging to the late Eng. Eliba Johnson in a violent matter yet there was a temporary injunction on the property," the unit said. Parliament orders arrest of Tourism PS Katusiime over accountability issues

The Public Accounts Committee has ordered the Police to arrest Doreen Katusiime, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism after MPs accused her of habitually refusing to respond to accountability queries and instead, delegating her roles to juniors. The Committee was told the Katusiime took her annual leave a few days to the scheduled meeting with Parliament. Muwanga Kivumbi (Butambala County), the PAC chair, was forced to issue summons for the arrest of Katusiime after the clerk to the Committee revealed that the Permanent Secretary pulled similar move last year, forcing the Committee to consider the audit report of the Ministry of Tourism. P.5 pupil commits suicide after being forced to go to school in Soroti

A primary five pupil of Awoja Bridge Primary School in Soroti district, eastern Uganda has allegedly committed suicide. Julius Alou, 17, was found hanging on a mango tree on Thursday by residents of Awoja village, Aukot sub-county after going missing for days. The National Unity Platform-NUP leaders in Masaka have lashed out at the top leadership of their party over its demand for the resignation of MP Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba from the position of parliamentary Commissioner.
