Kiboga Engineers Charged in Fuel Fund Scandal

The officials are accused of a multi-million shilling conspiracy to defraud the Kiboga District Local Government. The funds were reportedly for fuel under the Road Maintenance Grant. It is alleged the accused connived with managers of different fuel stations and fraudulently claimed fuel for vehicles that had been out of service for months.

Jubilation in Lira after alleged land graber remanded

On Friday 2nd February jubilations and ululations rocked Lira City as victims of land grabbing and impunity that has for years been exhibited by Betty Amongi’s leading campaigner  tycoon Geoffrey Etwop, was finally brought to an end. Claiming to have deep connections everywhere in Uganda and more so State House, Etwop had distinguished himself as an untouchable land grabber who never spared even public land if it belonged to the Government of Uganda. He had strong backers and collaborators inside the land board that was in charge before Lira was elevated to city status. These would help in falsification of documents to enable the land defrauding in favor of Etwop. Former railways boss charged with forgery

KAMPALA: The former Managing Director of Uganda Railways Corporation, Stanley Sendegeya, has been remanded on charges of forgery and uttering false documents. According to court documents, Sendegeya forged and presented fake documents before getting the railways’ topmost job. Sendegeya was arraigned before the Buganda Road Chief Magistrates Court and the charges read to him. Natasha Mariam, the State House Anti-Corruption Unit spokesperson, said Sendegeya was netted in an operation by the unit and the Criminal Investigations Directorate of the Uganda Police (CID) on November 22. “Sendegeya is accused of forging and presenting documents proving that he had the requisite academic qualifications for the position of managing director, which he did not,” Mariam said.
