Kiryandongo leaders throw out CMD Investments for messing sh3.5b project

Kiryandongo District leaders have vowed to decline CMD Investments Limited a company which was contracted to construct the 3.36 billion Kigumba seed secondary school on future projects. The leaders cite inconsistency and failure to adhere to the contract terms evidenced during the construction of both Kitwara and Kigumba seed secondary schools by the same contractor. The leaders made the vow during the site meeting held on January 18,2024 at Kiryandongo District headquarters to discuss the fate of the stalled Kigumba Seed Secondary school. The construction of the 3.36 billion school was launched in May 2023 and expected to be complete by September 2024. However, ever since the launch, the project has been stalled at foundation level which is worrying the leaders. KAMPALA: The police have arrested several phone snatchers who have been terrorizing passengers and other motorists in areas of Wandegeya. Police net two soldiers in foiled Kawempe mobile money robbery

KAMPALA: Two soldiers have been arrested following a foiled robbery at a mobile money agent in Kawempe, Kampala. MBARARA: The Police in Mbarara are investigating the brutal murder of an 18-year-old S6 vacist together with her mother. Rwizi regional police said Ainembabazi Ruth, an 18 year old S.6 vacist, and her mother Bashaba Frascisco, a 49-year-old, peasant, were killed on Jan. 5, at Nsiika cell, Ntura parish in Mbarara district. Kabale teacher arrested for sodomising primary school girl

Police in Kabale have arrested Ambrose Rukundo, 31, a teacher at Triple M Primary School for allegedly having carnal knowledge of a 17-year-old girl of the same school. Rukundo is a resident of Kibuzije village in Rubanda district. The case was reported by Sam Katama, 40, a peasant resident of Karushanga village, Kaharo sub-county in Kabale. Police said the suspect called the victim in the staff room where he was alone to bring books and after which forced her into a sexual act.
