Minister Anyakun returns from Oman after initiating talks on better deals for Ugandans
Ugandans working in Oman are hoping for better pay and working conditions following efforts by the Minister of State of Labour, Employment and Industrial Relations, Esther Anyakun, to initiate a memorandum of understanding with Muscat. Earlier this week Anyakun led a delegation to visit Oman where they held a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Labour of Oman, Mahad Said Ali Baawain, regarding opening up a new market for Ugandans. According to ministry sources, the meeting agreed to initiate an MoU to expedite the process of Labour Migration in order to officially recruit Ugandans in Oman. “Hon. Anyakun commended the relations between the two countries and encouraged Hon Baawain to visit Uganda and explore the investment opportunities here,” a source said.
