A lands commissioner at the line ministry survived death twice in a space of one month for reportedly cancelling genuine land titles in favour of wealthy individuals. Reports from the commissioner's office indicate that the first attack happened last month when a furious man entered the office, locked the door and punched the corrupt man severally. The National Drug Authority (NDA) has arrested a senior health worker at Kamuli Hospital with stolen government ARVs worth millions of shillings. The enforcement arm of NDA found the drugs stored at Ronald Kibalya's private facility. Below is the full statement issued by NDA. Our Intelligence & Enforcement team have arrested Ronald Kibalya Nditusawa, a health worker at Kamuli Hospital with 12 boxes containing 720 tins of ARVs (64,800) doses clearly market government of Uganda not for sale. He was delivering these for sale in Nansana, Wakiso District. Mr. Kibalya was arrested with Mwesigwa Moses, Bwambale Walter and Mumbere Godfrey as they tried to move the stolen the drugs from a saloon car (Toyota Primo) Reg No. UBN 848Y. Since March 2024, NDA has recovered stolen government drugs worth over 2.5billion shillings!

Lawyer Balondemu back into custody after Entebe airport arrest

Kampala. The chairperson of the Kampala District Land Board, David Balondemu, also owner of M/s Balon Advocates and Bloom Advocates, is back into custody to face charges of falsifying medical records to secure a court bail. Anti EACOP activists sue police, attorney General

KAMPALA. A group of activists under the “Stop EACOP” Campaign have instituted legal action against the Attorney General, as well as several police officers for alleged brutality against them. The group also says apart from taking action against the police, they are also seeking that the court holds police officers individually and personally responsible for the violence meted out against them. Boda-riding gunmen kill forex bureau guard, arrested by police

KAMPALA: The police in Kampala have arrested three gunmen who shot and killed a guard at a forex bureau in Kabusu, Rubaga Division. Suspected land grabber on the run over illegal possession of gun

Wakiso-based property broker Kenneth Keeya is on police's wanted after reportedly trying to grab land using an illegal gun. Trouble started when Keeya together with another suspected land grabber only identified as Gaddafi descended on a disputed piece of wetland at Kalidubi in Makindye Ssabagabo and tried to grab it forcibly.Police was quick to swing into action, arresting Gaddafi while Keeya managed to escape. Kiryandongo District leaders have vowed to decline CMD Investments Limited a company which was contracted to construct the 3.36 billion Kigumba seed secondary school on future projects. The leaders cite inconsistency and failure to adhere to the contract terms evidenced during the construction of both Kitwara and Kigumba seed secondary schools by the same contractor. KAMPALA: The government has formed a committee to scrutinize the health condition of Molly Katanga, who stands accused of the murder of her husband, tycoon Henry Katanga.
