Besigye attacks Museveni over stolen matooke

KAMPALA: The former leader of the Forum for Democratic Change, Col (Rtd) Dr Kiiza Besigye has attacked President Yoweri Museveni’s government after thieves stole bunches of matooke from his plantation in Wakiso district. “Six large bunches of bananas (Matooke) were stolen from our small Kasangati garden last night!” Besigye posted on his social media handle on X, formerly Twitter. “This is why many people have resorted to sleeping in their gardens- guarding. It’s a compound socioeconomic challenge Uganda faces after 40 yrs of M7/NRM Junta’s rule!” Besigye added. He closed his post by giving Museveni a ‘red’ card. Uganda police stakes sh20m for terrorists behind city bombs

KAMPALA: Uganda’s joint security forces have placed a sh20m stake for whoever will provide information leading to the arrest of two suspects behind the two explosives, which went off in different parts of Kampala at the weekend. The Joint Anti-Terrorism Task Force of CMI, ISO, CT and CI have put up a serious manhunt for two notorious ADF suspects, for their alleged roles in a series of terror attacks. Kenyan national killed in Kabale accident en-route to Rwanda

KAMPALA: A Kenyan national was on Friday killed in a road accident as he drove manure to Rwanda. Police said, the accident occurred at Kyanamira trading centre, Kyanamira sub-county, Kabale district, along the Kabale-Mbarara highway. The deceased has been identified as Ramadhan Hussein, 49, who was driving trailer number KDM 588E /ZE3608 white and grey in colour Mercedes Benz. “It's alleged that a trailer which was being driven by one Ramadhan Hussein now the deceased from Kenya heading to Rwanda which was carrying manure,” the police said. “When it reached at Kyanamira trading centre, the driver failed to negotiate the corner and the vehicle overturned hence, he died instantly,” Police added. Uganda records at least 200,000 deaths as a result of accidents annually, according to police reports.
