Museveni, Mswati call for a unified Africa

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Maama Janet Museveni have today welcomed the King of Eswatini, His Majesty, Mswati III at Entebbe International Airport. His Majesty, Mswati III who is in Uganda for a three-day State Visit at the invitation of President Museveni was accompanied by his wife, Queen Inkhosikati Make Lamashwama and other high-level delegates. At Entebbe International Airport, President Museveni was flanked by Ministers and service chiefs. Upon arrival, the visiting King was accorded a 21-gun salute and inspected a guard of honour mounted by the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF). Museveni meets senior officials from oil giant Total

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has met TotalEnergies President for Exploration and Production, Nicolas Terraz who paid a courtesy call on him at State House-Entebbe. Mr. Terraz, who has been visiting the oil exploration sites under the Tilenga project, briefed President Museveni on the progress of the project and also solicited for more support to ensure the success of the operations. “I visited the sites at Tilenga and the pipeline. The drilling and pipeline activities are going on very well,” he said. Terraz also informed the President that the oil project now employs over 8,000 Ugandans. NRM village registrars protest over shs10,000 daily allowance

Village registrars taking part in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) membership register update have protested over the sh10,000 they are given daily, claiming the money is too little yet billions of shillings were released for the exercise. In Kampala, the registrars raised alarm on one of their whatsapp groups saying “bosses” are eating all the money….nebatuwa obutwalo without lunch!” Another one called Ritah said: “We are doing excellent work on top of creating enmity and they are giving us peanuts”. The exercise which started earlier this week will run until Sunday.
