Top Kamuli medic arrested with stolen govt ARVs worth millions

The National Drug Authority (NDA) has arrested a senior health worker at Kamuli Hospital with stolen government ARVs worth millions of shillings. The enforcement arm of NDA found the drugs stored at Ronald Kibalya's private facility. Below is the full statement issued by NDA. Our Intelligence & Enforcement team have arrested Ronald Kibalya Nditusawa, a health worker at Kamuli Hospital with 12 boxes containing 720 tins of ARVs (64,800) doses clearly market government of Uganda not for sale. He was delivering these for sale in Nansana, Wakiso District. Mr. Kibalya was arrested with Mwesigwa Moses, Bwambale Walter and Mumbere Godfrey as they tried to move the stolen the drugs from a saloon car (Toyota Primo) Reg No. UBN 848Y. Since March 2024, NDA has recovered stolen government drugs worth over 2.5billion shillings!

Sh80m theft case: Korean bosses at Good Neighbors NGO grilled by police

Two Korean nationals heading an international NGO have so far recorded police statements in relation to the theft of at least sh80m which belonged to one of their junior workers. This publication has learnt that Sunyoung Shin, the Country Director for Good Neighbors International Uganda, on August 8, was grilled by police detectives at Fort Portal Regional CID offices. According to the officers, Shin denied knowledge of the money as she was not the one who ransacked the house of Bernard Kazahura, a junior worker at the Kyegegwa based NGO. A senior Korean national official working at a local NGO is on police's wanted list to record a statement over allegations of theft of shs80m. The Project Manager of Good Neighbors Uganda at Kyaka Field office, Sinho Kang (Simon), is a wanted man by detectives at Kyegegwa Central police station. According to sources, Simon broke into the apartment of his junior Ugandan workmate, Bernard Kazahura and forcibly confiscated his property which included log book, academic documents, clothes and shs80m. Besigye attacks Museveni over stolen matooke

Thugs break into prison, steal four guns

KAMPALA: Four guns have been recovered from daring thugs who broke into Kibuku Prison armoury in Mbale City, robbed the Russian-made AK47 riffles and 116 bullets. Prisons spokesperson Frank Baine on Monday acknowledged the theft, adding that all the stores had been recovered. “Following a joint security operation, all the four guns and 116 rounds of ammunitions were recovered the following day (Friday),” Baine said. “As a result of the operation, two suspects have been apprehended and are currently in police custody,” he added. According to Baine, a team of inspectors from the prisons has been dispatched to Kibuku to establish facts about the incident. “A strong appreciation goes to the sister forces and the public for their vigilance that led to the success of the joint operation,” Baine noted.
